Chris Woodward

Chris Woodward is an SMS Principal Consultant and Client Account Manager with nearly 40 years of experience in the information technology industry.

Chris specialises in advising on IT organisational and management processes, value and performance measurement, risk assessment, governance, IT and systems strategy, and information and knowledge management.

Chris has done considerable work researching IT best practice in management processes, including decision-making processes, organisation, governance, value and performance measurement, and risk assessment. As part of the Research Unit of Computer Sciences Corporation, and previously Butler Cox plc, Chris led and contributed to many IT research projects, researching and writing on topics including governance, human resource management, IT procurement, project and programme management, advanced systems development, and human aspects of change.

His current and recent work with SMS includes working with clients in outsourcing partnerships to measure and analyse the value delivered by suppliers. He has previously run due diligence work associated with outsourcing business, and researched and authored on IT procurement.

Chris has developed a number of IT benchmarking programmes, as well as performance and predictive models, and used dynamic modelling techniques to explore management policies and evaluate business cases for IT investment.

He continues to work in the field of IT benchmarking with Quantimetrics.
