Peter Fagg

Peter is a Principal Consultant with Software Measurement Services Ltd. with extensive expertise in delivering performance measurement, function point analysis and programme management. He has acted in this capacity with a variety of clients, including telecommunications and pharmaceutical industry, government agencies and financial institutions.

He has been in the forefront of using COSMIC to establish performance measures for projects developing highly-constrained 24/7 infrastructure systems, built using modern methods and utilizing reusable components. He is also an experienced trainer of measurement techniques, including COSMIC, for monitoring and controlling projects to derive business benefits.

Peter is SEI CMMI 1.2 certified. He has contributed to joint consultant/client staff improvement teams implementing the CMM® for Software and the CMMI and has led and contributed to teams working with clients on continuous process improvement using lean management principles. He has also worked as an independent 3rd party measuring supplier performance in the context of major, multiyear outsourcing contracts in both private & public sector.

Peter is the chairman of BSI committee IST/-15, Software and Systems Engineering, involved in the development of domestic, European and international standards in the area of information systems and technology. He is the BSI Principle UK Expert on the ISO/SC7 committee responsible for Software and Systems Architecture standards, and was Principle UK Expert on the ISO working group on standardising functional size measurement methods.
