Roger Gamage

Roger Gamage has more than thirty years engineering experience, including design and development of both electronic hardware and software. He has a wealth of practical knowledge gained as an engineer and technical manager in the communications and systems integration industries. Since the early 90s he has been predominantly involved in management, while retaining an understanding of the technical issues associated with the projects managed.

Since moving into his role as a consultant, Roger has delivered a huge amount of CMMI®-related training and mentoring. He is an SEI-authorised CMMI® Instructor. He has managed a number of projects and worked as a team member on a variety of performance improvement programmes, including participating in a team working with clients on continuous process improvement using lean management principles.

During his career, Roger has managed a development department of over 200 staff. He has implemented new processes that benefited company performance and also instituted an attractive departmental culture that reduced staff turnover to less than 5% per cent over 3 years. His practical experience includes management of a corporate Project Office and he has experience of managing large project teams, coordinating multiple project managers and a portfolio of projects across multiple sites in different countries.

Roger speaks from an in-depth understanding of the business value of software process improvement, and how to achieve it. His presentation style is pragmatic and engaging. He communicates his commitment to practical implementation of software performance improvement and the culture necessary to effective delivery.
